Cliché Scene #2
Washing your face!
Whenever someone in a movie is upset or nervous, he or she goes to the bathroom, looks in the mirror and does the obvious movie thing: Washes his or her face with water.

Cliché Character #5
The Overprotective Dad
![]() |
Liam Neeson in Taken (2008) |
This kind of father is so protective that even if his daughter were over 18 years old, he'd still get really suspicious when she had a new boyfriend.
Now, how about their sons? They'll survive, let 'em be boys.

Random Cliché #2 Screaming Women
In old movies, women often have the most unnatural exaggerated scream, like in this movie for example: The Black Cat (1934)
Here's an example, at 4:28 into the video:
I'm really glad that this is not used in movies today. Except maybe in some really bad horror movies.

Cliché Character #4 The not-so-skilled Hero
Good guy vs. Bad guy. The villian is much stronger and more skilled than the hero, but somehow the hero wins anyway.
Usually there is a scene near the end of the movie, where these two fight and the villian is superior throughout the fight, but through some good luck and coincidents the hero suddenly defeats the villian. Why not let the hero kill the bad guy in one blow for once?
Examples:
Batman vs. Random Villian (Although Batman is quite easy to beat in a one-on-one fight he always wins.)
Terminator T-101 vs. T-1000
